The ultimate objective of the Office is to help the Faithful of the Diocese help others through charitable giving and development initiatives. In so doing, the Faithful excerise their call as Jesus' disciples through the sharing of time, talent and treasure allotted to them in their earthly journeys. Among our main initiatives are the Annual Catholic Appeal, Second Century Scholarship Fund and the Diocesan Priests' Medical /Retirement Collection.
This office also assists Catholic Charities of Altoona-Johnstown in carrying out the annual collection on the Solemnity of Christ the King in November. Please click on the link to access Catholic Charities Collection information.
We continue to coordinate the diocesan Stewardship of Treasure process (while the responsibility of Stewardship of Time and Talent lies with the Parish Life Office).
We manage development and alumni relations activities for Catholic Campus Ministry serving Penn State's University Park campus. Excitement is growing as we progress with a capital campaign to construct a new Catholic Student Faith Center adjacent to campus.
We also provide assistance to parishes planning development processes and capital campaigns upon request.
Charitable gifts of stock are also welcome to support the Annual Catholic Appeal, specific Diocesan ministries, parishes and schools. To learn about our stock transfer process please click on Stock Gift Procedures.
Donors interested in supporting the Church through the use of bequests, charitable gift annuities and trusts, insurance and other planned giving vehicles may do so through the Independent Catholic Foundation.
